Mission Statement
Theatre of Youth Company, Inc. (TOY) stimulates the imagination, nurtures the creative spirit and enhances the education of young people by engaging them in relevant, child-centered, and professionally-produced live theatre programs. TOY believes meaningful childhood experiences in the theatre develop confidence in creative thinking skills, cultivate empathy and establish a life-long connection to the arts.
About Theatre of Youth

TOY was founded in 1972 by Rosalind Cramer and Toni Smith Wilson, theatre instructors at Daemen College.  Initially, TOY was a small touring theatre company that performed in schools throughout Western New York.  After taking up resident in the Pfeiffer Theatre (now the Town Ballroom) and then the Franklin Street Theatre (now the Buffalo Chophouse), TOY found a permanent home in the historic Allendale Theatre.  After fulfilling a 13-year quest to raise $3.5 million the theatre opened in 1999.  TOY is now entering its 46th anniversary season, performing for approximately 30,000 young people and adults each year.

Theatre of Youth Announces New Ticket Pricing Structure
Theatre of Youth (TOY), Western New York’s family theatre, is excited to bring six brand new shows to the Allendale Theatre for the 2017-2018 season. This season marks the 46th year for the company.

While dubbed The Founders Season, TOY also used its 45th season as a year of reflection. We are proud to announce, by audience demand, a new subscription package, and lower ticket prices. These updates will make it easier and more affordable for families to enjoy live theatre at TOY.

Single tickets will go on sale August 1st with our new pricing matrix. Section A is $28; Section B is $24; Section C is $21; Section D is $15. Our special event pricing (A Charlie Brown Christmas) will be $22 (A); $19 (B); $15 (C); and $12 (D).

“In our reflection, we always keep the needs and concerns of children and families at the forefront of our minds. These new ticket prices reflect that process,” says Kevin Leary, Managing Director.

TOY’s reflection also brought about a newly remodeled flex subscription. Flex subscriptions keep the modern family in mind. It comes with a minimum of 8 tickets that can be used for any show, any date, and at any time with free exchanges. In addition to saving costs upfront, a flex subscriber can purchase additional tickets for just $21. Flex subscriptions are on sale now.

Patrons may enhance their TOY experience this year by purchasing a VIP membership. With a $100 gift to TOY, a family will receive special benefits including a personalized note on your seat from the lead character at each show you attend, autographed postcard from the show characters of each show you attend, guided backstage tours, 10% off TOY workshops, and a discount card to Buffalo area restaurants and arts and cultural institutions. A VIP membership can be added to any ticket order.

Supervision of TOY during its 46th season will be under Meg Quinn as the Artistic Director with Kevin Leary as Managing Director.

“The 45th anniversary season was dedicated to the two women who founded Theatre of Youth—Rosalind Cramer and Toni Smith Wilson.” Says Quinn. “Roz and Toni believed children need and deserve to have their stories told in the theatre and that we must tell those important stories with respect and care. For our 46th season, each play speaks to the child audience about growing up, learning about the world, and finding your place in it.” This will mark Quinn’s 26th year as Artistic Director.
